Oakville Town Council is best placed to determine sustainable development for this area. The proposed MZO is insulting to local residents. No effort was made to meaningfully consult with all stakeholders. The MZO proposes development that does not align with what young home buyers are looking for. The transportation consultant admitted there is insufficient information to ensure the development won't result in increased gridlock. When asked about parks, schools and community centres, the consultants said that would be up to the town and school board to figure out after the fact. Forcing the Town to plan around the MZO is a terrible way to develop a liveable community. Please reconsider. Nobody opposes development entirely. All we ask is that you allow our democratically elected local officials to exercise their expertise to approve the best development possible for Oakville. Do not issue this MZO and let Oakville Town Council do it's job.
