My wife and I first moved to Oakville in late 1983 and are now living in our fourth Oakville home while planning to move into our fifth such home later this year. During those forty plus years we have witnessed Oakville’s population treble and seen traffic gridlock increase on the streets near the Oakville Go Station. The current proposal under consideration consisting of eleven very tall towers in a very small space is frankly ludicrous in and of itself and not at all in keeping with Oakville’s official plan. A fundamental reason for why we have recently decided to move from east to west Oakville is because of the disruption that will occur around the mid town development but at the very least Oakville’s own development plan will ensure local management of the matter and far better ensure consistency with Oakville’s other development priorities. In closing we invite you to personally witness the current traffic around the Oakville Go station during the end of day commuter rush and project what that will look like if supplemented by the TOC proposal you are reviewing. Thank you for your attention to this very serious matter.
