I live in the vicinity of the lands subject to this proposal. Like many of my neighbours, I am totally opposed primarily for three reasons:
1. Traffic in the area is already severely congested at peak hours. The scale of this proposed development will create gridlock and be unbearable.
2. The scale of this proposed development will place additional stress on the area's infrastructure such as water and sewer, schools and food stores.
3. The proposal exceeds the town's Official Plan by a wide margin and the Official Plan already provides for enough housing to meet the provincial targets. The magnitude of this development is completely unnecessary
The use of Ministerial Zoning Orders to permit the proposed development is unnecessary and authoritarian, and will have political repercussions.
