To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing as a resident of Concession B-C in Ramara Township.

My concerns are as follows:

Increased Traffic & Road Impacts
• Trip volume: Doubling throughput will significantly increase daily heavy truck movements on our local residential road (likely hundreds more per day), straining infrastructure and compromising safety.
• Road wear & maintenance: The unrelenting volume of heavy trucks accelerates pavement deterioration, leading to premature potholes and increased repair burdens on taxpayers.
• Safety & compliance: Higher volumes may lead to speeding, improper turns, and other traffic violations along our weekend and residential roads, disrupting our families’ enjoyment and peace.

Dust, Noise, and Quality-of-Life Concerns
• Dust generation: Frequent soil movement and truck emissions create airborne dust—posing health risks and nuisance to residents.
• Noise disturbance: Around-the-clock operations and night-time truck activity will create persistent noise and vibration—exactly the kind of disturbance that urban environmental studies warn can harm public health and mental well-being.
• Currently, this facility performs an extremely poor job in managing the dust because of their business. School busses and other local traffic have also raised concerns as there is low visibility at times.

Abuse of “Emergency” Dumping Privilege
• The stated “emergency only” dumping expansion risks being used routinely, converting the facility into a 24/7 operation, stripped of meaningful oversight. This could nullify existing safeguards and overwhelm our community.
• An example: November 19, 2025 this Quarry was operating outside it’s regulated operating hours (all through the night). From my understanding, this would have been against regulations, yet they did it anyway.

Environmental & Accident Risks
• Accidents during loading/unloading or spills are inevitable over time. Accidental releases of contaminated soil, leaks, or equipment failures could pollute nearby land, groundwater, or stormwater systems. (Spills outside the facility have already occurred. Doubling the this Quarry’s soil processing will just add more spills and truck accidents on this concession road).
• The province’s Excess Soil Regulation acknowledges the need for proper controls and tracking to avoid environmental harm, but increased throughput and lax dumping restrictions could override these measures.

Township Position & Public Sentiment
• I appreciate that Ramara Township has already registered a formal opposition to this expansion. I would like to add my voice in support of the Township’s stance—and urge the Ministry to refuse or at minimum, severely restrict this proposal in light of its significant community and environmental risks.

Conclusion:
The proposed expansion threatens greatly to alter our residential character, community safety, and environmental integrity. I request that the Ministry require a fully transparent review, conduct an environmental impact assessment, and schedule a public hearing—before granting any approvals.

Thank you for considering my concerns.
