Walt Rickli Studios Design Thinkers Artists Stone Sculptors May 13, 2011 David Johnston Planner Niagara Escarpment Commission 232 Guelph Street, Georgetown, ON L7G 4B1 Dear Mr. Johnston: Re: Objection to NEPA 185 10 – EBR Registry Number 011-2900 On behalf of Walt Rickli Studios we are opposed to NEPA 185 10. We are currently operating our Creative and Sculpture Studio at 2433 #2 side road in Burlington Ontario. Our location is currently designated Escarpment Rural Area in the Niagara Escarpment Plan and are a permitted use in this designation. We are concerned of the precedent NEPA 185 10 may have to our future operations. PERL is suggesting the Region’s NHS (which is not yet approved) should be designated Escarpment Natural Area and Protection. The Region’s NHS covers most of the rural area in Halton. This precedent could result in portions of our property being designated as Escarpment Natural and Protection Area and these designations do not permit our present use.
