Records are required to be kept for 5 years by receiving site owners. However, ownership of the receiving site may change multiple times within a 5-year period. Additional clarification should be included that the records must be maintain by the owner and their successors for a period of 5 years. In addition, if the property is sold within the 5-year period, the owner would be required to provide the records to the purchaser of the property.
