STUDIES THAT MUST BE COMPLETED. 1. Hydrogeological study (last completed 2011) 2. Traffic study (last completed 2013) 3. Environmental Engineering study (never done) which includes public health, dust, air quality and noise 4. site rehabilitation plan (last completed 2015) 5. agricultural and rural living (was it ever done?) 6. disturbance issues (was it ever done?) These are required studies that must go through the Planning and ARA process which must be up to date and valid before a gravel pit licence can be approved. We are requesting that many of these studies be either re-done or in some cases started. Please note that this is a new aggregate licence application request so I would assume that new studies would have to be completed. The original application had been closed. Noise and air studies have not even been conducted yet, with residential homes very close to the proposed exit/entrance. Reference PPS 2.5.2.5 stating that the development of residential homes within very close proximity to the proposed extraction boundary and in particular the location of the entrance/exit would preclude operation of the pit because of negative impact of issues of public health, public safety and environmental impact which have not been mitigated by the applicant. Southgate road 14 has been acknowledged in Archeology Study as a heritage road and must not be widened west of the proposed eastern entrance/exit as widened would damage trees on either side of a very narrow roadway. Peer review has not been conducted on the technical studies as recommended in the Natural Heritage Reference Manual and the Township of Southgate Official Plan.
