The proposed waste discharge, which ultimately will find its way into the water table and into the Ottawa river, should NOT be allowed under any circumstances. Scientific evidence is overwhelmingly clear about the serious direct negative affects on the environment and health. The quality of water will be directly affected with a myriad of pollutants, including carcinogens. The proposed waste discharge method is contrary to the spirit and letter of international environmental commitments Canada has recently made and a directly impacts the health and well-being of Ontarians. This government must not allow a notoriously neglectful corporation to further damage our environment and the health of the community. Respectfully, Dr. W. D. VanBalkom
