Has for the Colacem Cement Plant. I have reason to fear that such an heavy industries waist will overflow in the Charlebois creek and others making its way to the Ottawa river which has become an Heritage and Protected River. We have a duty to ensure the quality of this river. further more, most properties along this area of the river are equipped with surface wells next to the shore. It is also important to fear the pollution from the stack. Particulate maters, mercury and heavy metals will contaminate our river. The Bay of LOrignal is a place that caters to all sort of activities such as swimming, fishing, camping, kayaking, etc. This is a residential waterfront. Not only would it be bad enough to spill into the Ottawa river but even worst since The Charlebois creek first makes its entrance into the LOrignal Bay. The start of the Bay is not very deep and it slowly slopes to deeper waters. We could assume that such a concentration of polluted waist in shallow waters in a fully residential area will put our kids and families, whom play in these waters everyday, at risk. As residents we fail to see an understand even a slight consideration for such a polluting industry so close to a population.
