Canadian mining companies have an appallingly bad global reputation.

This Proponent is proposing to undertake early exploration activities. As a Resident and Taxpayer of Ontario I recognize that:

1. Canadian mining companies have a bad global reputation re: social and environmental justice.

2. Mining companies have a duty to consult with local communities and First Nations.

3. Canadians are entrusting mining companies to extract product on the nation's behalf. (This does not give companies licence for wanton destruction.)

4. Fresh air, good food and clean water are key resources for Canadians and the ongoing willful destruction or contamination of these resources is unacceptable.

5. Any company doing business in Canada has a fiduciary responsibility to protect the people of Canada. Ensuring long-term, common availability of clean and fresh air, food and water is fundamental to that trust.

I demand the Government of Ontario ensure accountability and transparency from this Proponent.

I demand the Government of Ontario ensure that the Proponent practices social and environmental responsibility both at home and abroad, and be held to the highest standards.

I demand the Government of Ontario vouch for this Proponent and be responsible for ensuring that this Proponent is worthy of the trust of the Canadian people, and worthy of the right to do business in Canada.

If the Government of Ontario cannot meet these requirements, then I object to the Proponent's application.
