As a resident of Dickey Lake, I am extremely concerned about the possibility of a mine a few kilometres north on the Old Hastings Rd in Limerick Township of Hastings County.
It has been shown in previous surveys that the toxins from the mine would drain directly into Nicholson Creek and then into DickeyLake. We take our drinking water from Dickey Lake and this will poison our water.
The location of the mine is in a small residential area. How could these people live here with a mine?
The gravel road going through the mine site is completely inadequate for trucking.
The wetlands in the affected area are home to several endangered species and provide food sources for many animals in the area.
Mining does not belong in a rural residential area where people live and many use for recreational purposes.
The infrastructure of roads and hydro is very inadequate for mining.
Every person living in this area is against any kind of mining exploration. The living conditions and recreational conditions will be ruined. Small townships like Limerick depend on recreational income.
Thank you for your considered treatment of this very important issue
