Haliburton Septic Pumping is following the rules and is regulated by the province. Septic waste does need a place to go and I am in support of this proposal. Haliburton County has very limited areas that suit this operation. Haliburton is full of lakes, hills, rock and wetlands. It's not like there are many places that will meet the rules and regulations. A big problem here are old septics that are close to lakes. These are the how lake water gets contaminated. This is how fish are affected. Dysart is doing septic inspections and wants everyone to have their tank pumped out when it is inspected. That's alot of waste that needs a place to go. This proposal is on flat farm land and there is no water near the area. The septic waste will not run to any lake or stream. The ground will filter the waste. This will encourage healthy plant growth. This company has hired professionals to research if the area is suitable for septic field spreading. Those that oppose this are not scientists. It's just their personal opinion, and yet they still want their septic waste to go somewhere...just somewhere else, of course. Then they don't care.
