I actually did some research…

I actually did some research and found out that the septage field spreading site in Minden didn't end up affecting neighbouring residents like they thought. The closest houses might of had a bit of a smell on some hot summer days, but other than that others in the neighbourhood were not bothered by this business in their neighbourhood.
Many times driving down a major highway, there is lots of manure farm smells, especially by a pig farm. The thousands of people driving those major highways just accept this as a farm smell. This doesn't affect their drive that much. In fact, it's a way to educate young children as to farming, farm smells, animal manure, fertilizer in soil to grow our foods, etc. Kids don't grow up on farms as much anymore and need to know how their food reaches the supermarket.
If there is the occasional smell from this site, then how is that any different than the thousands driving by farms on highways? Or neighbours that live close to large farm operations?
Smells happen, could even be someone's neighbours septic system not working. This is not a valid reason to not approve a septic field spreading location.
If it meets all the requirements to be approved, then it should be approved.
