I live very close to the water treatment plant and I am very concerned about the currently proposed changes. We often get foul odors and it really impacts our ability to enjoy the community outdoors. I am concerned that the increased production at the plant will cause more odour.
I am also concerned about the increased truck traffic on Beechgrove. The truck drivers often do not obey posted speed limits and they have to cross through a cross walk that is frequented by children who go to the local schools, namely St Malachy and Wm G Miller. The cross walk is not attended by a crossing guard at any time of the day.
Finally, I am concerned about the health effects of increasing emissions in the area. I am an asthmatic and have difficulty breathing when the air quality is poor. I am concerned for all the residents in the surrounding area.
As an aside, I worry that this may also lower the value of my property for resale. We are retiring soon and are planning to sell our home to move out of the city.
