I heartily support extending the moratorium on new water bottling permits. Further, we need to quickly faze out all existing permits. Water is absolutely necessary for life and it needs to be protected from pollution and carefully managed to ensure a safe, ongoing supply for current and future generations of citizens. Allowing water bottling corporations to extract our precious ground water and sell it in destructive plastic contains (most of which end up in land fill or our waterways) for enormous profit is totally irresponsible. Perhaps the practice started when we didn't understand how destructive it is but now we know and we have to act on that knowledge.
