My name is Timothy Wilkinson, I have grown up in Ontario my whole life. I grew up in a family where guns and hunting was not seen as a respectable sport. In my early 20’s on my own accord, me and a few friends got our hunting/ gun licence and started hunting. Being new at hunting we soon realized how many people were against hunting. Seeing the negative and becoming more involved in hunting – receiving my trapping licence.
I came to realize how much an active hunter/trapper gave back to the MRN with number of stats and wild life. In over 10 years plus, of actively hunting I have seen the landscapes and number of animals change drastically – from a harsh winter and early spring.
I feel that opening up the amount of wild take numbers will only help the repopulation of Birds within Ontario. I do not see any negatives in this matter.
