If private companies …

If private companies (producers) are responsible for collecting their own recycled materials from residences, what accountability would there be that this would be done on a regular basis as blue box collection is now done. Producers are not all the same - they are profit and shareholder driven and I doubt that the same level of service to residences would be achieved. Let the producers reimburse the municipalities for picking up the recycled materials and the producers can pick up from a central depot when the recycles have been delivered.
