While I agree that government process tends to take longer and faster action is required - it would be absurd not to have a fast track option that included community consultation - especially for those who are directly affected by the change in the area. People invest hundreds of thousands in buying a new home. The value of that home can not be automatically put into jeopardy with the simple overriding of any normal and assumed process. Community input should be mandatory even if the results or the plan goes contrary to the community’s preferences.
