Yes, yes, yes! Finally a step in the right direction! Expansion of the Greenbelt is 100% the right way to go, and we should be seeing more opportunities to expand this precious resource!
Residential and commercial development has been running rampant in the GTA (especially in north Ajax) and is posing a major threat to the Greenbelt lands, and it would be a terrible shame to see more losses at the hands of greedy developers. We have already suffered the loss of quality farmland to accommodate an enormous Amazon warehouse which quite frankly is a colossal step backwards for the region with respect to it's obligation to conserve and restore the natural landscape.
We deeply need to see more Greenbelt conservation and expansion especially where the Whitebelt lands are concerned.
