I am very concerned about the changes to the site plan for the Miller Boyington Pit #3. I am particularly concerned about the importing of fill and the impacts that this will have on the groundwater of the area.

The area where the pit is located is part of the vulnerable section of the Oak Ridges moraine and should be restored to a natural landscape. The area should remain under the jurisdiction of the MNRF and not be managed by the township which lacks the resources and expertise in managing gravel pits.
