The five main access routes into the Uxbridge town centre are (Concession 7/Main Street South from the south, Bloomington/Toronto Street from the west, Durham 8/Brock Street West from the west, Durham 1/Main Street North from the north, and Durham 47/Brock Street East to the east. Of these five access routes, Concession 7/Main Street South, with the exception of the Miller Boyington Pit #3 property is the most scenic for those travelling into the Uxbridge town centre. This is not to say that the other routes are not enjoyable to travel, but Concession 7 does provide travelers the most natural of views with heavy tree cover ranging from old growth pine, to cedar stands, to areas of mixed natural vegetation. At present, the Miller Boyington Pit #3 property is the only real distraction from this natural setting and if anything, every effort should be made to improve the appearance of the property through the implementation of the government mandated pit rehabilitation measures. Rehabilitation of the pit should also include removal of the current unsightly unauthorized storage yard and planting of vegetation native to the area in order to help make the property better conform to the appearance of the local natural environment.
