I object to this proposal as…

I object to this proposal as it poses clear risks to the environment and local aquifers. Water quality is critical for any municipality, and the potential risk to this aquifer makes the proposed actions unjustifiable. There are farms and residences nearby this pit housing horses, livestock, crops and families and quality water is so important. Also the risk of pollution and road safety with the number of trucks needed to provide the volume of fill proposed would negatively impact the surrounding area. Allowing this action sets a dangerous precedent as there are so many pits in the Uxbridge area. To allow this to go forward would open a door that we then may not be able to close. Far more consideration needs to be taken when making decisions that impact the environment to the degree that filling this pit would. The original contract needs to be honoured and the pit needs to be rehabilitated as planned previously.
