As a tax paying citizen of this province I fully support the cap and trade cancellation act.

My reason for this is because the revenue from the carbon tax was never earmarked for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (besides a few initiatives such as rebates for rich people who can afford electric cars such as Tesla's and a fund for maintenance to schools which SHOULD be coming from our property tax dollars!!) but was solely destined for a general revenue fund for the liberals to spend however they choose. So this was never an 'environmental' tax to begin with but just another tax that the liberals could spend on their pet projects. This was very evident during the 2018 provincial election as the cap and trade tax was referred to as 'general revenue' many times during the election campaign by all the political parties.

The conservatives led by Doug Ford is the only party that was willing to respect the tax payers and put an end to this tax disguised as an 'environmental tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions'.
