I think the proposal for extending the rifle hunt is a great idea. Adding a muzzleloader hunt in 36 and 42 will also give hunters a chance to enjoy the experience of hunting with a muzzleloader. However I would like to see a better management strategy on issuing antlered deer tags. Also we need a tagging system that’s harder for poachers to reuse their paper tags. There’s no reason Ontario can’t become the new meca of whitetail deer hunting in Canada, like Alberta and Saskatchewan if we manage this resource properly.
