To whom it may concern,
I do not agree with this proposal. It is irresponsible to exempt highways from thorough environmental review.
I support Environmental Defence and Canadian Environmental Law Association's submissions on this proposal.
The province's approach has not been to improve systems, like the EA process, which is what cutting red tape should be about, but rather "carpet bombing" them. It would be better if the government improved things.
There are a number of highway projects that this government is proposing around lake Simcoe which will put a lot more nails in the lake's coffin, without proper oversight.
