How dare you try to destroy the very essence of our neighbourhood — one that we paid a premium to move into precisely because it was not occupied with multi-plexes, duplexes and townhomes. We bought our house because of its R1 zoning, so are you now going to compensate us — or lower or tax rate — for devaluing our neighbourhood by overriding our local zoning and changed the very nature of the house types here?
I have long been a Doug Ford supporter, but if this bill passes, I will be sounding the alarm far and socially wide that our premiere has zero respect for the hard working people who saved up to buy into the neighbourhood of their dreams, only to have it slowly degraded by an overriding an overreaching province. Our local zoning was put in place for a reason and we pay dearly in taxes for this zoning. I am beyond furious at this ignorant and outrageous shift that will do more to help developers and builders (of which I am one) than the individual people who's trust we placed in a Doug Ford government.
