As much as I support affordable housing, destroying the green belt is not the answer. There are many other ways to support Ontario residents and protect the flora and fauna that live in the green belt. I’m addition, building homes in the green belt would be impractical for the immigrants to live in because they can’t afford to travel to work in the inner cities. The only people who can afford to live in these homes would be remote workers, so the housing crisis wouldn’t be solved this way for the people who really need it. And don’t forget the remote workers are feeling the inflation, so they can’t afford to move from their current home to the green belt. Basically, you’re building housing in an area without people to live in it. I hope you reconsider your decision to vote for this bill.
