The initiative to cut land from the Greenbelt is another blatantly dishonest move from our current provincial government. Doug Ford only ever said he wouldn't develop the greenbelt to bide his time. He's using it as a way to generate money for rich land developers (the only ontarians he cares about) and this has always been his plan. He's told us right from the beginning what he wants, he stated it plainly in 2018. This move is also based in ignorance of environmental science, you can't just cut protected land up into pieces and expect the ecology to survive, nature doesn't work that way. Part of what makes our province great to live in is our access to quality water sources. I'm sure that if our water was compromised (a la flint Michigan) we could expect the same amount of concern and action on the part of our government as in the states; it would be a horrendous battle to have the problem acknowledged and fixed, and ordinary canadians would have the pleasure of navigating a privatized healthcare system thats too expensive (another obvious intent on the part of ford)

The problem with housing isn't a lack of supply, it's the same rich minority taking advantage of the current situation we're in just like the gas companies and grocery stores are. Blame inflation and high prices on normal people who have no real control over it. Not allowing current urban areas to be developed into higher density living spaces, also due to the rich minority having the privilege to get in Douggie's ear about "not in my backyard" is what put us here. Not investing in ordinary people, not valuing our public systems so ordinary people have their money slowly siphoned away. Blaming inflation on excessive spending (that the provincial government begged us to do!) Raise interest rates for home owners and make it even harder to get a mortgage or save for a down payment. These are what put us in a housing crisis. So cutting up protected lands and being blatantly greedy and capitalistic is not the solution

Leave the greenbelt as it is. You're destroying the future of the province and making it impossible for young Canadians to stay here. You can't run a province purely on rich, corrupt retirees, even if they're your golf buddies
