Subject: Green belt comments
Dear Premier Ford:
Taking farmland out of production to build homes seems counter productive. How will future generations be able to feed themselves when all the farmland is gone? Increased crop yields can only be sustained by the use of fertilizers and other chemicals. These practices will eventually have an effect on the environment.
Lands already approved for homes should be considered first.Green belt developments will likely be for affluent homes and not necessarily be affordable for first time home buyers.
Please consider other urban planning options so that future generations are protected and growth can be sustained.
