The Green Belt is an integral part of the Province of Ontario that needs to be preserved and if anything expanded. Rezoning this land for residential development is short sighted and selfish. It serves a small number of wealthy developers while hurting generations of Canadians. The ford government should honour their commitment to preserving the critical lands that aren't important to just today's Canadians but future generations. Housing needs are a complex subject but taking the easy way out by leveling thousands of acres of protected land shows the lack of effort this government is willing to put in. Go back to the drawing board doug or leave it for the next provincial government to tackle.
