I am very disappointed to hear that the greenbelt is being opened up for housing. We were promised that they wouldn’t do so and they are going back on their word.
It is a treasured part of Ontario and destroying it will have many effects such as:
- destruction of habitats
- damage to water, flora and fauna
It is unlikely new immigrants would even want to live here. It would also put pressure on infrastructure and worsen urban sprawl.
I DO NOT support this amendment at all.
