I am very disappointed in…

I am very disappointed in the government’s decision to develop dedicated green space. Urban sprawl in the GTA is already out of control. These developments will only add to more traffic, clogged roads, increasing smog and negatively impacting climate. Further, the developments will have a negative impact on vulnerable species and water sources. While, the need for more housing is a priority, the development of green space lands will likely just add to more low density, and very expensive homes. This is not the solution the public needs. The government needs to look at more in filling of already developed land and improvements to public transportation.

Not surprisingly, today’s report in the Toronto Star shows the government’s real agenda - lining the pockets of their developer friends. It is truly shameful and reprehensible.
