This whole plan is simply outrageous. What is the point of establishing laws to protect the Greenbelt, and other sensitives areas, if you can just renege on those laws on a whim.
The plan is also vague on details. What kind of housing are we talking about? If the plan is to build 55, 000 homes that cost more than a million dollars, then the plan is doomed to fail from the get go. We need more affordable housing, not housing that is unaffordable to the average Ontarian, especially new Immigrants.
Also, I find it interesting that the proposed lands for development are owned by large corporations who are friendly to the Ford Government. The smell of malfeasance is in the air. Ontario voters will express their opinion on this issue during the next election. We will remember.
