This is a horrible idea. The green belt was put into place for a reason. To protect vital farmland and prevent urban sprawl from turning everything grey. We need green space and food for our health. We need more affordable housing too, but massive subdivisions with million dollar houses are not the answer. They'll just get bought by landlords, rented out and make the problems worse.
