You can’t keep moving the goal posts and swapping one area for another. This becomes a joke and not a serious protection of our precious farmland, food supply, wetlands and unique special areas. This is our food supply which will be even more important as our population grows. This has to be protected, and not make us dependent on another country for our food, this is not a wise decision. Our food production for certain foods is limited in this country due to climate and the Canadian Shield.
Wetlands and green space prevents flooding. Sprawl contributes to pollution which increases expenses to our healthcare and lessens chances of reducing CO2 emissions. This results in an increase to the province for environmental disasters which is costly. And building on ‘hazard lands’ is unconscionable. It also shows a total disrespect for all the people and work that have gone into preserving and protecting this land, and a disregard of the the wishes of Ontarians . Your authoritarian approach is also offensive.
