Please do not remove the protections of the greenbelt and commit to more urban sprawl. We need the agricultural land for food security, habitat preservation, and flood plain protections. This land is important for our long term sustainability. This plan for homes is not. Ontario is a very big province with many areas ripe for development. People do not need to be in the GTHA anymore to work. Our options are unlimited when it comes to growing in this province. What is not unlimited is arable land. We can't depend on imports from other countries anymore for our food. The environment is too unstable. Just look at the issue with lettuce and the current food prices. We need to protect and invest in our green spaces, not pave over them. We are in the midst of a climate crisis. We need to address that; we do not need to build more homes few can afford. Please, keep your promise. Do not build on the Greenbelt. Secure its protections unequivocally for the future. Ontario depends on it.
