I was considering purchasing vacant land in Mulmur to build a small passive home (off the grid, grey water, better building materials such as triple glazed windows and materials that off gas less). The property is under 2 conservation authorities NVCA and NEC. Although it takes extra time and costs more to obtain building permits I am happy they exist to protect our environment - both land and water. Mr. Ford and his provincial government however has been slowly reducing the conservation authorities ability to do their job. Now we know why - so he can remove 7,900 acres of sensitive land from the Greenbelt to build houses. It is a clear demonstration of poor land/water stewardship.

I live very close to King Township, my extended family live within the Township. There is not many jobs available nor public transit, so what type of housing will be built - more large estate homes with multiple cars in the driveway? Housing needs to be built where there are jobs, where there is well developed public transit to wean people off of cars hence fossil fuel. And yet Ford is hellbent on following through with building Hwy 413 and the Bradford Bypass - on farmland.

This government seems unaware of food insecurity - we grew our family on produce coming out of the Holland Marsh. Local food - not flown and trucked from around the globe. People are hard pressed to pay for food as it is - why then pave over Ontario's Food Bowl???!!!!

The people are speaking - we do not want land taken from the Greenbelt for housing. Infill development of Toronto and surrounding municipalities need to be undertaken before destroying precious land that serves to keep us all healthy. Time to give a damn and abolish Bill 124.
