We strongly disagree with the land swap plan for the Greenbelt. Intact ecosystems cannot just be created out of thin air, climate change is not a problem for the future, it is already here and we are behind in our attempts to slow it down. Building houses in the Greenbelt will NOT help with the housing crisis, since surely these will not be affordable houses. Taking power away from people in municipalities to decide how their city should be run is undemocratic. Bulldozing farmland and watershed areas will not help to make more affordable houses. Laws to curb real estate investors would help. Rent control would help.
