I cannot express how strongly I oppose Bill 23 and the proposed amendments to open our green belt land to development. We are facing a climate crisis, we need more land protection not less. They type of housing being proposed by Premier Ford’s development friends is not the solution to the housing crisis. We do not need more sprawling suburbs, we need smart development in stronger policies that prevent owning multiple homes for investment and recreation until everyone has a primary residence to call home. This government has dropped the ball over many years and now wants to say the only solution is to develop the green belt protected lands, but this is just another instance of this government creating crises to justify privatization. Ontarians are not fooled, and do NOT support these amendments.
