In a time when we are seeing increasing severe weather, effects of climate change, environmental degradation, and species and habitat loss, the need has never been greater to have conservation authorities on the job. Rather than diminish their role, the scope of the jobs should increase, offering further input and protection measures to ensure all aspects of building/development are taken into consideration (including how planning affects humans, animals and the environment).
