I support the approval of the 30-year Regional Official Plan intact, as is approved by all councils.

This plan was created with extensive community consultation and thoughtful consideration of the community we live in. The plan was overwhelmingly approved by all municipalities in the Region and is visionary for the future.

The Provincial government should respect the communities vision for the future and not risk the benefits this plan will provide to all members of the community. There are unfathomable risks to our future without smart planning to avoid the worst consequences of climate change. We know that Waterloo Region is well positioned to grow and this plan accommodates that growth with thoughtful consideration of what is needed. We know our community best.

This Regional Official Plan continues our current success and trajectory with sustainable, complete 15-minute walkable communities, more active transit, more public transit including Phase 2 and Phase 3 of iON LRT, more housing choice, more housing affordability, and better protection of farmland, groundwater, and green space. It is essential and widely supported by your constituents locally.
