Why is a section being added allowing the Minister the ability to issue an order to meet reduced standards? Currently, Section 26 in regulation 240 allows the director to file a closure plan with alternate closure measures that meet or exceed the standards. What is wrong with meet or exceed the standards? As a tax payer, I feel the current section which requires proponents to meet or exceed the standards is better. Just switch the Director to Minister.
