Surely most people will understand that there is a reason for Environmental Assessments and, in a democratic Ontario, for the Environmental Bill of Rights and public consultation.

These procedures seem to have been largely ignored by the current Ontario government, which has frequently used its unscrupulous "Ministerial Zoning Orders" for the purpose of authorizing inappropriate construction.

Does the government really believe that a "Minister", with limited tenure, knows better than their own Conservation Authorities and Registered Professional Planners?
