I have been fishing in the province for 35+ years , i use live bait very regularly. Having said that i totally agree with the mnr decision. I believe just a ban of bait fish is not enough . All live bait should be banned and be illegal in the province of ontario. No minnows , leeches , crayfish , frogs , dew worms , roe (eggs) , snails , slugs , grasshoppers . Etc.. too many guys hooked fish that are accidentally caught out of season and or not in the legal slot size to be harvested. Not to mention all the harm to the environment . As much as I should be against this I'm all for it . In the long run it just makes sense . Should take a page from some of the other fishery enforcement agencies. Could even go as far as to make the hole province a single barb less hook and artificial lures only. All the positives to this scenario far out way any negatives.
