Another proposal. REALLY. Will York1 stop at nothing to get what they want? The citizens of this area all know how wrong this is. This landfill is going to destroying our town along with all the people who live here and the surrounding areas. York1 meeting said no drainage into waterways. But in the first proposal it says "drainage into Molly's Creek. They also said no asbestos. But in 2nd proposal its says asbestos. They have lied to our faces and continue to do so. York1 does not care about the environment only their pockets. Our streams and waterways, our infrastructure, our health, wildlife and endangered species, the noise of all the trucks and equipment they will be using 24/7, the air we breathe, water wells being contaminated, rich agricultural land that they have bought and plan to turn it into a bigger landfill, and the list goes on, and on, and on. York1 has done so many things underhandedly. We should of been informed 2 years ago when York1 bought an old landfill that has been decommissioned for almost 50 years but the license was never changed. This landfill site that has been closed is not even a kilometer away form the town. If York1 expands, which they already said they are planning on doing, it will be right at the town property line. There is no way of getting to this site. Only our municipal roads. These roads CANNOT handle all of the trucks. We all know that all this waste is coming from Toronto but in the 3rd proposal it says from the town of Dresden within the municipality of Chatham-Kent. They have lied AGAIN. Dresden has a very small population of 2,400 people. We would never create that much construction waste to fill a landfill this big. York1 is and continuing to try and do underhanded things. Even to to extent of trying to go behind our elected officials, whether it is municipal governments, provincial governments or federal governments. This company needs to be looked into. I am sure they have done many, many other things under the table. I guess they get what they want when their handing out money to ever who will go along with their dirty schemes. But not Dresden. We will not become victims of a so called company that cares only about themselves and the money. The elected officials of the province of Ontario needs to stand up to this company and say NO. Our environment needs to be kept cleaned and the ministry knows this. York1 says they all about the environment. But it is as plain as the nose on your face that they are not. Does a recycling landfill need to be built. Yes, but not this close to a small community. Put it someplace where there is no risks of endangering lives, waterways, endangered species, water wells, and so on. Please. We just want to be able to live in a healthy environment. But York1 is taking that away from us. The province of Ontario needs to see things from our perspective. Not money. If the province cares at all for this community and the surrounding areas then do what is right. Don't let these proposals go through. It is just wrong.
