To Whom It May Concern,

Please reject York1's application to re-open, expand and repurpose a dormant landfill that is located less than 1km from the community of Dresden, Ontario and metres from a creek that drains into the Sydenham River.

While this proposal seeks to solve the problem of demolition waste from GTA development (York Group, partner firms and customers) it does not serve the community near which the site is located. In fact, it will be a detriment.

The potential for harm to the St. Clair Region watershed, as well as the many species of concern and species at risk in the Sydenham watershed far outweighs the benefits of the disposal of non-reclaimable or non-recyclable demotion waste and contaminated soil.

Furthermore, the expansion of the site into agricultural land is contrary to sustainability initiatives for Ontario and Canada.

I look forward to a response to my comments. I will await the news of the rejected proposal and any future proposals to expand or repurpose the waste disposal site at Irish School Road near Dresden, Ontario.
