As a resident of Winhara Rd, I have to say that I’m not at all impressed, and furthermore, quite appalled to have only found out about this proposed site in the past couple of days.
We choose to live out here because, for the most part, it’s quiet. After decades of complaints, the town has just recently (and finally!) fixed our road. The sheer volume of traffic we’ll see if this goes through will - no doubt - quickly destroy both the quiet and the pavement.
There are children and animals to think about as well.
I’m concerned for our safety, not only regarding the traffic, but our soil, ground water (we’re all on wells), and wildlife.
With all the blasting back there, it’s probably pretty safe to say that they’ve already done some damage to said wildlife.
That pit used to be beautiful, and full of deer, frogs, turtles, and nesting Canadian Geese.
