The proposed designation under the Environmental Assessment Act of the landfill site and waste transfer and processing expansion, located in the town of Dresden within the Municipality of Chatham Kent must have a full environmental assessment. Actually, this project should not be taking place at all. According to Bill 197, this location is too close to a town of over 1000 people and an area where groundwater wells are a common source of water for the surrounding population.
