The Sydenham River is one of Canada’s most biodiverse watersheds, with over 20 species classified as Species at Risk on a provincial or national level. This alone should indicate the significance in global conservation efforts. Therefore a full comprehensive environmental assessment should be mandatory! All of these efforts to protect these species will be completely useless if nothing is assessed to determine how dangerous this situation is. The pollution and contamination that could occur if this project continues will destroy this biodiversity that we have worked so hard to protect and improve over the years, endangering numerous plants and animals in and around the Sydenham River.
