The sole reason for York1's proposal to repurpose an existing landfill site north of Dresden is to try and circumvent the normal applications and permitting process that would be required for a more optimal location. The original site/permit was not intended for any purpose near the scope or size of what York1 is proposing so they should be forced to complete the full permitting and evaluation process.
The proposed location is too close to a major waterway and urban population centre (Dresden) and is too far from the source of construction material (GTA, London, etc) which will cause a significant increase in heavy truck traffic on roadways not designed for this purpose as well as create significant and unecceassey vehicle emissions due to the excessive transportation required for this non-optimal location.
Say no to the dump!
